Ø      KITING DURING THE WEEKEND:

WHAT? Teams from whole Europe; the acts are announced and are adapted to the circumstances of the weather.

·           International 2- and 4-line demos with beautiful BALLET and TEAMKITING on music.

·           Spectacular super 1-line demos on the entire beach of Ostend.

·           Buggy-kiting with powerkites on the hard sand.

WHERE? On the beach from the Casino to the Hippodrome; divided in fields.

WHEN? The whole weekend.

 

Ø      OSTEND WINDGARDEN

WHAT? A travelling exposition by international ‘Aeolists’ with more than 30 sculptures of (musical) kites and windconstructions.

WHERE? On the beach next to the casino – field A 

WHEN? During Saturday and Sunday 

 

Ø      OSTEND WINDEXPO

WHAT?  EXPO of artistic hand-painted kites for the benefit of ‘Alle kinderen vliegen’ (all kids can fly a kite’): a project to let disabled persons discover the world of kites.

WHERE? tent at the Venetiaanse Gaanderijen.

WHEN? During Saturday and Sunday 

 

Ø      EXPO KITE AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

WHAT? An exposition of spectacular aerial photos made by using a kite. A system, by which the camera hangs up to the kite.

WHERE? Tent at the Venetiaanse Gaanderijen.

WHEN? During Saturday and Sunday 

 

Ø      EXPO KITE POSTERS AND PINNS  new

WHAT? EXPO of 20 years Kites International Oostende and more than 300 kite-pinns

Ø      WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN

WHAT? Colouring and assembling your own kite to let him fly!

WHAT? Learn KITING! Freestyle or powerkiting

WHERE? On field F (just across from the Thermae Palace Hotel)

SUBSCRIPTION? FREE! At the radio car!

AGE? From 8years old

WHEN? At 3.00pm, one hour initiation, on Saturday and Sunday!

 

Ø      DROPPING OF SWEETS

WHAT?  Sweets are dropped from a kite in the sky. Come and catch them, you can win a nice kite!

WHERE? On field B just across the radio car

AGE? From 4 to 12 years old

WHEN? Saturday and Sunday at 03.00pm – about 5 drops after one another!

 

Ø      HAPPY TEDDY HOUR   new

WHAT? National and international teams who fly their BEAR kites

WHEN? Saturday at 01.00-02.00pm

WHERE? On field B

 

Ø       ROKKAKU FIGHT   new  very successful – more than 27 participants

WHAT? A spectacular fight with rokkaku-kites. The winner is the participant who stays over with his kite in the air. 

WHERE? On field B

WHAT? Nightflying with flashing lights and reflectors – a mystic flying on music during the night
